WPA enables app-based receipt uploading for cash plans

WPA has updated its health app to enable customers to upload cash plan receipts.

The system is being modified from one which previously required customers to send receipts by posts to one which asks for basic information such as treatment date, type of treatment and the amount paid, with customers uploading their receipts or using the ‘Take a photo’ function to submit their claim.

WPA adds it is planning for the uploader to be used for customers to submit supporting documents to WPA, such as underwriting certificates for those transferring from another insurer.

Commenting on the development, WPA chief operating officer Jim Searle, said: “Authorising health insurance claims remains unique to the WPA health app.

“Uploading receipts for cash plans continues our app’s evolution with features that increase customer access to their policy benefits while speeding up treatment and the payment of claims.”
