The staff at You at Work are set to benefit from a cost of living bonus of £500 this November.
The employee benefits provider said the payment was in response to rising inflation and the cost of living crisis.
Announced at its financial year end company review, the firm also presented updates to its current range of benefits on offer to staff which included:
- Formalising their policy to give everyone the option to ask for flexible working hours, for example in the form of earlier starts, four-day weeks or nine-day fortnights.
- Confirming their commitment to additional days holiday between Christmas and New Year as policy, while ensuring that customer service is not affected; and
- Going over the core benefits of PMI, life assurance, dental and the employee assistance programme.
In addition to these benefits, You at Work also currently offers 25 days holiday with the ability to buy or sell five extra days, a salary sacrifice pension where employer NI savings are paid as contributions and access to a range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits and discounted products and services through the You at Work portal.
Since the update, the company revealed three more employees have taken advantage of the flexible hours/days.
Practicing what we preach
Alicia Aldis, operations director at You at Work, (pictured) said: “It’s very important to us that we support our employees as much as possible to help beat inflationary pressure and to have a work/life balance, which in turn
supports their wellbeing. As a company who is doing well, and who specialises in reward and benefits, it’s vital that we ‘practice what we preach’. We continually review what’s on offer to staff and remind them of their core benefits and look to help them in whichever way we can.”
Wendy Phillips, customer service & software testing specialist at You at Work, added: “I’m really pleased that You at Work constantly review the benefits on offer to us and give us hints and tips on how to save money through our portal. I’m especially grateful this year for the bonus to help with the cost of living increases.”
