YuLife partners with Bupa on group health insurance for SMEs

YuLife has launched a partnership with health insurer Bupa making its reward and wellbeing app and benefits available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) providing medical insurance to their staff.

The proposition uses the Bupa Select product which has four levels of cover and is available for organisations of between two and 500 employees.

It includes access to 600 hospitals in the Bupa network along with other benefits provided by the product such as pathways for treatment and referrals for cancer, mental health and MSK conditions, and unlimited digital GP appointments.

Using the YuLife app, members can complete activities, such as walking, cycling, meditation and mindfulness which can earn in-app YuCoin and other benefits.

These can allow users to buy groceries, vouchers and discounts from leading brands, or improve the world through planting trees, ocean cleaning and donating to charity, the provider said.

YuLife CEO and founder Sammy Rubin (pictured) said like life insurance, health insurance had potential to engage with policyholders and proactively encourage them to adopt healthier lifestyles.

He added that YuLife’s launch with Bupa furthered its commitment to “enriching our member’s health, providing benefits that are truly valued by employees, and boosting workplace wellbeing at businesses across the country”.

“Access to high-quality healthcare is transformative for employees’ sense of mental, physical, and financial wellbeing, especially in the current economic landscape,” Rubin said.

“This forms part of our mission of making health and wellbeing accessible to all, and ensuring that YuLife members are living their best lives.”

Bupa UK Insurance general manager for business and specialist products Richard Norris said: “Looking after the health and wellbeing of employees is fundamental to building a thriving and successful business.

“This partnership will help more people to take charge of their everyday health and wellbeing, while also offering reassurance that high-quality healthcare is there when it’s needed.”
