Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions (ZGEBS) and GIG Gulf have extended their partnership to offer life and medical solutions across the Middle East.

To support its customers in the Middle East, ZGEBS launched a regional partnership with Gulf Insurance Group (GIG), which comprises both existing GIG businesses and also the former AXA Gulf employee benefits business which GIG acquired in 2021.

GIG Gulf and Zurich already have existing arrangements spanning life, property and casualty cover.

The expanded regional partnership covers seven Middle East territories enabling Zurich to deliver medical cover for its customers across these territories complementing existing regional life coverage provided by Zurich International Life.

Mathew Richards, head of UAE employee benefits business development of GIG Gulf, said: “This unique collaboration will benefit our customers by offering them a single insurance partner who can meet the demanding regulatory requirements in each of their locations.

“As our presence in the Middle East continues to flourish, we look forward to the role Zurich and GIG can play in supporting our clients and their employees where and when they need us most.”

Rob Brown, head of network partner management at ZGEBS, added: “Being able to help our customers understand and manage their life and medical insurance risks anywhere our customers have employees is a strategic priority for ZGEBS and this ground-breaking partnership with an highly respected regional powerhouse such as GIG is a major step in this goal.£

Brown added that GIG was highly differentiated in the Middle East region and would help customers understand and manage their costs and maximise employee health and wellbeing.
