Zurich Singapore appoints head of accident and health from Chubb

Zurich Singapore has appointed Nixon Ooi as head of accident and health in Singapore. 

Reporting directly to Alexandra Cowley, chief underwriting officer, Singapore, Ooi will be responsible for leading the underwriting, portfolio management, and proposition development for accident and health. 

Ooi has more than 12 years of experience and joins Zurich from Chubb where he worked for five years, most recently as head of accident and health, responsible for all aspects of the company’s underwriting operations across the CI A&H lines of business.  

Prior to that he was head of corporate, also for accident and health at Chubb and previously as a manager for accident and health corporate and as a senior underwriter. 

Prior to Chubb, Ooi held client management and underwriting roles at Tokio Marine Life and InterGlobal. 

Cowley said: “We are delighted to have Nixon join our team as we continue to prioritise growth in accident and health across Asia.  

“With his leadership, customer focus and deep understanding of the market, Nixon is very well positioned to enhance our proposition, ensuring that Zurich Singapore’s offerings remain competitive and responsive to customer needs.”
