Allianz Partners has appointed Gordon Delaney as global lead – corporate IPMI from Cigna Healthcare.
Delaney (pictured) is one of four senior appointments Allianz has made across its health line of business.
These include Marco Fattori, who has been appointed as global lead – corporate employee benefits; Cyril Samson as employee benefits segment sales lead for Europe; and Paul Hogan as senior sales manager, leading employee benefits segment sales for the UK.
In his new role, Delaney will lead the corporate IPMI segment, with responsibility for driving growth, strengthening commercial performance and overseeing global pipeline development. He will work closely with sales, key account management and underwriting teams to deliver a competitive and differentiated market offering.
He reports to Giovanni di Meo, head of commercial, health and benefits.
At Cigna Healthcare, he was sales director for the international organisations division where he led broker engagement and growth initiatives across Europe. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in the international health insurance sector, with a track record of driving growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has held senior leadership roles at Cigna Healthcare, Axa Global Healthcare and Allianz Partners.
Fattori will oversee account management and sales activities across key regions and ensure the consistent delivery of service to global clients and broker partners. He also reports to di Meo.
He began his career at Allianz SE in group HR before joining Allianz Global Benefits in 2014. He has held multiple leadership roles, including head of account management and sales director in Europe, and most recently head of employee benefits tender management.
Samson will oversee the delivery of products and services for multi-national clients, ensuring alignment between sales resources and strategic priorities. He will also manage key strategic accounts, with a focus on retention and growth, and lead broker management activities across Europe. He reports to Liam Hughes, regional head of sales and distribution Europe, health and benefits.
Samson has extensive experience within Allianz Global Benefits, where he most recently led the sales and account management teams supporting multi-national clients across risk and personal solutions. Prior to joining Allianz in 2004, he was head of international employee benefits at Gerling Pensions management.
Finally, Hogan will execute the employee benefits sales strategy in the UK, strengthen relationships with global clients and key broker partners, and drive new business opportunities. He also reports to Hughes.
He joined Allianz in 2017 from Mapfre, where he was regional commercial manager for the MENA region. Since joining Allianz, he has held senior roles within the Middle East International Health account management team, building strategic broker partnerships and supporting sustainable portfolio growth. He brings with him almost 20 years of experience across international health, reinsurance and commercial insurance.
David Myers, global head of sales and KAM at Allianz Partners, said: “We are delighted to announce four new senior appointments to our global sales team. Marco, Cyril, Gordon and Paul bring with them immense industry insight and knowledge, that will be invaluable as we achieve our growth ambitions.
“Our focus moving forward is on how we deliver, orchestrate and leverage the full strength of Allianz through a segment-led approach. This will enable us to elevate Allianz as a true one-stop-shop for health and benefits brokers and clients, ensuring a consistent, scalable and unique proposition across all markets”.
