‘Holistic digital’ health insurance ‘without geographical restrictions’ will be on the market in 2021, its developers claim.

Spanish global insurance provider Further has merged with UK-based digital platform Trustedoctor to create Further Group.

Founded in 2016, the London-based startup has built an online platform to connect seriously ill patients with specialists in areas such as oncology and cardiology.

The platform, which allows for secure video consultations and file transfers, is available in eight languages, including Chinese and Arabic.

Headquartered in Madrid, Further already has a presence in over 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Frank Ahedo, current CEO of Further, will be the CEO of the new combined company. Greg Jarzabek will remain CEO of Trustedoctor and also become chief digital officer of Further Group, focusing on further development of virtual healthcare infrastructure.
