The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has launched its a value-added services matrix, a free tool providing advisers with a quick-view summary of the value-added services and wellness support offered alongside individual protection policies across the market.

The matrix brings together services including the likes of digital GP access and mental health and vocational rehabilitation support in one place across two views.

This includes a breakdown by IPTF value-added service provider members; Krysalis, Legacare, RedArc, Square Health, Teladoc and Working to Wellbeing, and an insurer-by-insurer view – noting which insurer provider offers which services.

Each provider and insurer name links directly through to their website, giving advisers a quick comparison to more detailed information when they need it.

The IPTF revealed the matrix was requested by advisers and sits alongside a growing body of IPTF content on the topic, including real-world case studies of value-added services supporting clients through claims, and a written summary of an IPTF industry conversation panel on why these services matter.

Steve Casey, marketing director at Square Health, said: “Value-add benefits are an integral part of income protection plans and advisers really need to understand the nuts and bolts of what is available and how they are accessed. The IPTF should be applauded in providing guidance to the intricacies of who provides what.”

Christine Husbands, commercial consultant at RedArc, added: “I often hear that advisers don’t fully understand the content of value-added services and which insurer offers what. This high-level matrix is an excellent resource to give advisers an overview and enable them to quickly access more detailed information.”

While the IPTF points out that all details in the matrix are correct at the time of publishing, it recommends advisers check individual providers’ websites for the most up-to-date information given how frequently value-added service offerings evolve.

The matrix is available now, free to access.
