Comedy legend Jo Brand will host the UK Health & Protection Awards 2026 – which are now just a month away.
The BAFTA-winning star of Getting On and Through The Cakehole is one of the most distinctive figures in comedy and a leading light of the alternative comedy scene, and has appeared on everything from QI to Countdown.
She is also no stranger to the world of health and protection as in a former life she was a psychiatric nurse prior to ascending to comedy superstardom.
However despite several acting exploits, she is still best known for stand-up with her deadpan style attracting many accolades – including Best Club Act at the British Comedy Awards.
A frequent host and guest on Have I Got News For You, she has also appeared on This Week, Just For Laughs and Comic Relief.
On the airwaves, Brand has graced everything from The Mary Whitehouse Experience to Just A Minute and Steve Wright in the Afternoon.
In addition to comedy, Brand has played the sergeant of police in The Pirates of Penzance, given an organ recital in the Royal Albert Hall, and has written a number of novels and two volumes of autobiography.
The Awards night will recognise those intermediaries and providers that have brought real innovation and excellence to the field of health and protection, in what promises to be a memorable night of celebration.
Shortlists have been announced for winners in the 14 adviser categories and 11 provider categories that will be presented on the night.
The Awards take place on 22 October as we return to the Hilton Park Lane Hotel for all the glitz and glamour and one huge night to remember.
