KareHero joins Grid to help close adult care gap

Adult care support provider KareHero is the latest organisation to join group risk industry body Grid.

The service, which helps people find suitable care, access funding and manage any legal arrangements, joins two months after Work Health Experts became a member.

KareHero will bring a focus to the industry body on helping to close what it sees as a growing adult care gap.

Accountancy firm Moore Kingston Smith and health insights platform Healthi have also joined this year.

KareHero works with employers, insurers and financial advisers, offering its services as an employee benefit or added-value service to help people manage their care needs or those of a loved one.

KareHero founder and chief executive Stephanie Leung said the company looks forward to raising awareness of group risk benefits and shaping the policy agenda on care support.

“We feel this area gets far less attention than established areas such as mental health or cancer support, despite unpaid carers being forced out of work or unable to work costing the UK £37bn in lost output, and the UK workforce now looking after more adult dependants than children.”

Grid chairman Colin Fitzgerald (pictured) said this is a great time for KareHero to join with social care reform back on the political agenda.

“Their voice will be vital in helping us champion the type of practical, everyday support that our members offer over and above financial pay-outs, helping to keep more people in work and supporting their return to work during periods of extended caregiving.”
