The number of people in the UK suffering long Covid symptoms has remained stubbornly high with more than two million people continuing to be affected.
Latest Office for National Statistics data shows as of 1 October the number of people dealing with long Covid for at least 12 months remained unchanged on the previous month at 1.1 million.
The number of people who have had long Covid for at least two years fell very slightly to 507,000 from 514,000 as revealed by the data.
It also shows the number of people suffering long Covid symptoms for at least 12 weeks remained unchanged on the previous month at 1.8 million.
However, the number of people with long Covid for more than four weeks dropped by 200,000 to 2.1 million people over the same period.
Fatigue continued to be the most common symptom reported as part of individuals’ experience of long Covid (70% of those with self-reported long Covid), followed by difficulty concentrating (45%), shortness of breath (42%) and muscle ache (42%).
