Perci Health has launched a virtual consultant-led chemotherapy-related neuropathy clinic.

Delivered as a national virtual service, the clinic brings together specialists in pain, physiotherapy, exercise oncology and psychology.

The move follows the organisation’s registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

This will enable the organisation to deliver specialist-led care for people living with the long term effects of cancer and its treatment, strengthening its end to end support across the cancer pathway from prevention and early intervention through to long term recovery and life after cancer.

Kelly McCabe, CEO and co-founder of Perci Health, said: “As more people are diagnosed during their working lives and survive for longer, the long term impact of cancer treatment on recovery and return to work is becoming one of the defining challenges of modern cancer care.

“CQC registration allows us to build on what we already do through our multidisciplinary model (involving cancer nurses and allied health professionals), by layering in consultant-led medical care that helps reduce long term side effects and supports people to recover more fully and return to work with confidence.”

Dr Matt Brown, medical director at Perci Health and consultant in pain medicine, added: “Many long term effects of cancer treatment are well understood and clinically manageable, yet people often struggle to access coordinated specialist care once treatment ends.

“Symptoms such as pain and neuropathy can persist for months or years, directly affecting daily functioning and the ability to return to work.”
