Protection Guru has appointed Steve Davey to the newly created role of head of specialist distribution.
Davey (pictured) joins after more than four years at protection specialist Vita, where for the last 18 months he was head of protection and general insurance.
In this newly created role, he will focus on delivering Protection Guru’s offerings to support those advisers servicing the protection market.
He will also help develop Protection Guru’s repository of research, learning and development resources available to participating advisers nationwide, as well as dedicated tools specifically designed for advisers providing protection advice at scale.
Davey said: “In just five years, Protection Guru has had a hugely positive impact on the industry.
“In previous roles, I’ve seen the service as key for new joiners. Having seen the tools and services the Protection Guru team has created, and their next offerings in the pipeline, these would have been a huge benefit to me in previous adviser roles.
“I am really excited to be given the challenge of taking these to high volume protection advisers. Having spent years working with the challenges such firms face I have first-hand experience of the challenges they face.
“When the opportunity arose to join and be a key member of the team at Protection Guru, I didn’t have to think twice before accepting the challenge.
“The tools and information available through Protection Guru will undoubtably improve the advised process for both advisers and their clients and I’m excited to be a part of making this happen around the UK”
