Denplan, part of The Simplyhealth Group, has appointed Nick Tait (pictured) to the newly created role of managing director.
At the start of the year, Simplyhealth revealed it would be creating two managing director roles to lead its Healthplan and Denplan businesses following chief customer officer (CCO) Claudia’s Nicholls-Magielsen’s departure.
Nicholls-Magielsen left Simplyhealth at the end of last year after three years in the position and subsequently joined Cancer Research as director of marketing, fundraising and engagement in March.
Over his career, Tait has led complex multi-product organisations, held executive and board-level positions with full profit and loss accountability, and delivered large-scale transformation programmes focused on growth, customer experience, and digital innovation.
Most recently, he was commercial director at NVS Group, a supplier to the veterinary sector.
He was previously managing director at Hilditch Group, has held senior leadership roles at GSK, and was also commercial director at Dental Directory Group.
Paul Schreier, chief executive officer at Simplyhealth, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nick to Denplan. His deep experience across healthcare, strong commercial acumen, and proven track record of leading transformation programmes make him the ideal person to lead Denplan into its next chapter.
“As we continue to evolve our business, invest in new capabilities and strengthen the value we provide to our member dentists and their patients, Nick’s leadership will be instrumental in helping us deliver on our ambitions for growth and innovation.”
Tait added: “I’m really excited to be joining Denplan and The Simplyhealth Group at such an important point in the business’s journey.
“Denplan has a strong legacy, a trusted position in the market, and a clear opportunity to build on that through continued focus on customers, partners and innovation.
“Personally, I’m particularly pleased to be returning to the dental sector, which has been close to my heart for some time as my wife is a dental hygienist and therapist, so it’s a world I’ve long had a connection to.”
