Andy Burnham has wasted no time making room for his new cabinet after becoming the UK’s new prime minister today.
The big news is that Rachel Reeves (pictured), David Lammy and Steve Reed have left their roles as the new prime minister prepares to appoint a new chancellor, deputy prime minister and housing minister.
Business secretary Peter Kyle has also left his role, while Richard Hermer is no longer attorney general.
The position of technology secretary is waiting for a new face after Liz Kendall vacated the role.
Burnham became the prime minister earlier today after no MP challenged him for the role following Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation in June.
