Dentists’ Provident has appointed Rubina Fur and Alex Michael as non-executive directors.

Fur has been in general dental practice since 1999 and has previously served as a member of the dental board at Dental Protection. She holds a BDS from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry and also has a PG certificate in Dental Law and Ethics with Commendation from the University of Bedfordshire.

Michael has worked in general dentistry since 2003 and has been the principal dentist of a family-owned practice since 2005. He holds a BDS from University of Wales College of Medicine, a master of laws and a diploma in legal medicine and also practises as a dental expert witness.

Giles Kidner, chairman at Dentists’ Provident, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rubina and Alex to the Dentists’ Provident board. Their combined expertise will be a real asset for our team and we all look forward to working with them. As a mutual society founded by dental professionals for dental professionals, we are pleased to continue to serve our members with expertise from within the profession.”

The appointments follow the retirement of Martyn Green and Alister Weightman, who stepped down from the board in May 2026 after 15 years of service.
