Vitality is introducing a cancer nurse navigation service, adding to its existing cancer support programme and the personalised care available to both its health and life members with a cancer diagnosis.
Working with Perci Health and backed by Macmillan Cancer Support, Vitality is expanding its 12-week service into a personalised 12-month programme.
It will be available to all VitalityHealth members as part of the existing cancer support programme.
For VitalityLife members it will be available to those with life policies making a terminal illness claim, for Serious Illness Cover customers making stage 4 cancer claims, and to all claims through the recovery pathway for income protection policyholders.
The service is designed to complement care provided by a member’s medical team, helping people navigate their diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and life beyond cancer, the insurer said.
It provides a dedicated point of contact to help members better understand their treatment, access specialist services and manage the wider impact cancer can have on their lives.

“This is fantastic news, but it also means many more people are left navigating complex decisions about their care, managing the side effects of treatment, and dealing with the longer-term physical, practical and psychological impact cancer can have on their lives.
He added the partnership with Perci Health provides eligible members with access to a dedicated cancer nurse specialist who can help them better understand their treatment, prepare for appointments, manage side effects and navigate the wider impact cancer can have on daily life.
“By combining personalised care planning with access to specialist clinical, emotional and practical support, we’re ensuring members receive the right support at the right time, helping them feel more informed, confident and supported throughout their cancer journey,” he added.
