The Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII) has appointed Charlie Francis, managing director of Howha PMI, to its executive committee.

Francis (pictured) started his career in private medical insurance as an apprentice intermediary in 2018 and set up his own business Howha PMI in 2023, joining AMII as an intermediary member the following year.

Francis said: “I am delighted to be joining the AMII executive committee. The health and wellbeing sector continues to evolve rapidly, creating both opportunities and challenges for advisers, insurers and customers alike.

“I am looking forward to working alongside committee members to support AMII’s important work, champion professional standards and help ensure consumers continue to receive the highest quality advice and support.”

Francis is replacing Anders Lewis on the executive committee after he left intermediary firm Gallagher to join provider Healix Health.

Dave Middleton, executive chairman of AMII, added: “We are pleased to welcome Charlie to the executive committee. He brings valuable experience from the intermediary sector, a strong understanding of the market, and a genuine commitment to supporting clients.

“His insight will be a real asset as we continue to represent our members and drive positive outcomes across the industry.”
